Hounds Announce 2008 Schedule
The Riverhounds return to the field in 2008.  The ‘Hounds home opener is set for May 3 against league champ and cross-state rival Harrisburg.  Their season opener is April 19 at Cleveland.  Visit riverhounds.com for complete details.

PA West Soccer Unveils Online Parent Learning
Being a parent of a young athlete can be challenging in a variety of ways.  PA West Soccer and Sports Path are providing online courses for the soccer parent.  “Helping Your Child Compete” and “Assisting The Young Gifted Player” are among the four soccer topics offered to help parents of players age 4-16 improve their sport parenting skills. 

US Youth Soccer Launches National Club Directory
US Youth Soccer is making it easy to find a club with their new, free club directory.  The new service will assist those seeking US Youth Soccer programs in their area or in an area to which  they’ll be moving; the Club Directory will provide 24-hour access to club, league and association searches via USYouthSoccer.org.  Register by January 1 and your club will have a chance to win one or four sets of KwikGoal Academy Goals (8 x 24).

NSCAA Boys All-American Team Announced

Coaches Training Helps Solve Problems
A recent report by the Citizenship Through Sports Alliance cites lack of training and accountability among youth coaches and parents as the primary source of problems.  The report recommends community and state levels requirements for mandated training and education programs.
